
The Special Operations Division is the most diverse division within the
agency, comprised of many specialized units. The
objective of the Special Operations Division is to provide a variety of
specialized services to the community through a number of different community
based programs; record and enhance personnel training, maintain the agency’s
firearms and armory, provide for the service of judicial process; support the
court system and supplement patrol and narcotics with the use of trained K-9
services.
The
Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division was created
to most effectively deal with the expanding duties and
responsibilities of the Sheriff's Office. Under
the direction of Commander Edward A. Willenborg, the Special Operations Division consists of both
sworn and civilian personnel. Members of Special Operations perform a wide
variety of functions that enable the Sheriff's Office to operate at its
maximum efficiency.
