Digital Online Reporting Instructions
Welcome to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Online Reporting System. This platform allows you to submit an official incident report quickly and efficiently for certain crimes or occurrences. By using this online resource you enable Deputies to remain in service for higher priority calls.
To make an online report, the incident must have occurred within St. Mary's County. For Fraud reports, the victim can make the report where they reside or where the fraudulent activity took place. When you complete the report, you will receive a confirmation email that the report was submitted and it will be reviewed within 3 business days. Once approved you will be provided with the case number and a free copy of the report for you to print. Make sure to turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report
Except for certain pre-approved businesses, the crime you are reporting online CANNOT INVOLVE A KNOWN SUSPECT. If you have a known suspect, please call our non-emergency line at 301-475-8008 to report the crime. If this is an emergency or you are reporting a crime in progress, please contact 911.

Fraud / Identity Theft
Single Vehicle Collison / Hit and Run
Shoplifting (Certain selected businesses)
WARNING: Filing a false police report is a crime. Under Maryland Criminal Law Article ยง9-501: A person may not make, or cause to be made, a statement, report, or complaint that the person knows to be false as a whole or in material part, to a law enforcement officer of the State, of a county, municipal corporation, or other political subdivision of the State, or of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Police with intent to deceive and to cause an investigation or other action to be taken as a result of the statement, report, or complaint. Maximum possible penalty 6 months or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.
