The St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a specialized unit committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment within the correctional facility. This highly trained team is prepared to respond to a variety of challenging situations with professionalism and precision.
Comprised of motivated and skilled correctional officers, the ERT undergoes frequent and intensive training in advanced techniques such as:
- Speed handcuffing
- Cell extractions with minimal force
- Pressure point control tactics
Participation in the ERT is voluntary, and each officer is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
