Right To Vote

Right to Vote

Under Maryland Law, you have the right to vote:

  1. If you are awaiting trial for any charge, including a felony, you can vote.
  2. If you are serving time for a misdemeanor conviction, you can vote.

The only people who cannot vote are those currently serving time for a felony conviction. You will become eligible to vote again after leaving a correctional facility, even while on probation.

For more information on voter registration and election details, visit the St. Mary's County Board of Elections.
