Crime Lab Supervisor, Megan RobertsForensic Science is the application of science to criminal and civil laws. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab is located at the Sheriff’s Office District 3 Station and employs the scientific method to document, collect, analyze, and preserve evidence. The Crime Lab provides advanced technology and years of combined experience in investigations in the field and laboratory.
The Crime Lab comprises a supervisor, five crime lab technicians, and a digital forensic examiner. Crime Lab Technicians provide service processing crime scenes and analyzing evidence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Digital Forensics is a branch of forensic science that employs the scientific method to identify, acquire, process, analyze, and report electronically stored data. The Digital Forensic Examiner provides services processing mobile devices for electronic data.
The Crime Lab provides service to all divisions within the agency and has assisted allied agencies when requested.
