Joint Operation Seizes Over $98,000 in Contraband Cannabis and THC Products from St. Mary’s County Tobacco Stores

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Maryland Alcohol, Tobacco, and Cannabis Commission (ATCC), announced today that a joint enforcement operation on August 11, 2026, targeting unlicensed cannabis sales resulted in the seizure of 1,263 grams of illicit cannabis flower and 4,639 non-compliant THC products, with a total combined retail value of $98,072.23.
The coordinated investigations were conducted by the ATCC's Field Enforcement Division and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Agents and deputies executed search warrants at three separate tobacco and smoke shop locations across St. Mary's County, resulting in the following asset seizures:
• Point Lookout Tobacco (Case 26-ATCC-0240): Located at 20990 Point Lookout Road in Callaway, Maryland. Investigators seized 659 grams of packaged and loose cannabis flower valued at $1,456.23, along with 1,343 alternative THC products valued at $28,867.00, for a total location seizure value of $30,323.23.
• Cloud Smoke Shop (Case 26-ATCC-0242): Located at 22811 Three Notch Road in California, Maryland. Investigators seized 201 grams of packaged and loose cannabis flower valued at $7,910.00, along with 1,251 alternative THC products valued at $33,581.00, for a total location seizure value of $41,491.00.
• Tobacco and Vape Shop (Case 26-ATCC-0176): Located at 21600 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, Maryland. Investigators seized 403 grams of packaged and loose cannabis flower valued at $5,495.00, along with 2,045 alternative THC products valued at $20,763.00, and 1,537 bottles of alcohol, for a total location seizure value of $26,258.00.
The ATCC and the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office remain committed to protecting public safety and maintaining the integrity of Maryland’s legal, licensed cannabis market. Unregulated products have not undergone the strict state-mandated testing standards required for consumer safety, posing potential health risks to the public.
Charges against the business operators and individuals involved are currently pending.
